SUMMER SOLSTICE DISPLAY - #3209
At summer solstice, a triangle of sunlight emanates from the head of a shaman or spirit-sheep figure, closes on a spiral and finally passes tangent to its center on this Hohokam petroglyph panel at South Mountain Park in Phoenix. Spirals often represent portals to other levels of being, so this might relate to a solstice ceremony involving a spiritual transformation.
