EQUINOX SUN LIGHTS EYES OF PETROGLYPH - #3567
The afternoon sun streams into a small shelter on the equinox to light the "eyes" of a petroglyph figure at Painted Rock Petroglyph Site west of Gila Bend, Arizona. This shows unmistakable intent on the part of the Hohokam who made these petroglyphs. This site also displays interactions of light and shadow on the solstices and cross-quarter days.
